Monkey Gee is a local Thai young fashion chain that has been able to combine trendy looking clothes with a distinct style and inexpensive prices. This is probably easier to achieve in Asia than in Europe, but it is nice to buy stuff without paying too much for them.
One of their Bangkok stores is found on Central World Plaza shopping mall among Western brands. The store has a wide selection of clothes for both genders, and some of the stuff is really dirt cheap — without looking cheap.
So, if you don’t have enough t-shirts or shorts, head there to collect a couple.

‘m a huge fan on Books Kinokuniya, the Japanese bookstore chain usually found nearby Isetan department stores. My experiences are mainly from Singapore — and unfortunately their Bangkok branch was a disappointment.
The English section was quite limited, I was expecting bigger selection in art, architecture, design and photography, to name a few, but the shelf space devoted for these were really small — especially compared to the store in Singapore.
The whole store felt worn and did not invite to spend time with the books. This all said, the store is still worthwhile visit for buying novels, maps and so forth.
