Caicos Tours – Semi-submarine trip
Fancy coral reefs are one major attraction in Providenciales. However, if you are not into diving, you are not able to visit the reefs — unless you take an excursion with semi-submarine boat.

As the name implies, the boat is partially submarine vessel that has seating at the bottom with underwater windows. You take a few steps down when boarding the boat and sit in a comfortable bench while looking the undersea gardens. This works especially with younger children that cannot yet dive at all.
The captain maneuvers the boat with excellent skills and sometimes you are less than a meter away from the corals. There is plenty of fish there, and sometimes an occasional sea turtle. Just keep in mind that photographing the reef is problematic due to the glass and lightning conditions, and you won’t get similar images as shown on their webpage… They are taken by professionals.

We tried taking this undersea explorer (semi-submarine) while in Provo last week.
Even though we were confirmed and waiting with our 4 small children for the bus to take us to the submarine, they cancelled last minute without telling us. The concierge at the front desk had to call them and ask them where we were.
Imagine hyping up 4 kids to go on this thing and not only disappointing them, but cashing out the entire day as it was too late to plan to do something else.
They at first claimed that it was due to weather (75 degrees and no wind i guess is bad for viewing) but then later recanted and said it was due to not enough people to go out.
I would suggest staying away from this company, as they don’t seem to have the customer service or respect for the tourist trade that many of the other vendors in T&C do.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences — we had no issues, but the boat was almost full then. I guess that the boat hogs a huge amount of fuel, and running it with a few people only would make loss. Anyhow, it is despicable to lie to customers.
Hopefully the rest of the holiday was better.
