Genki Sushi – Cheap and Good Sushi

Genki Sushi is a chain of sushi robot joints spread around the city. They have also a couple of restaurants at the airport, and these places are — surprisingly enough — not more expensive than the downtown ones.

Sushi is good, not maybe excellent, and the price is just about correct. Two people eating themselves full costs less than S$30, including soft drinks. The sushi is prepared in front of you as the kitchen is inside the robot, and you can ask directly the chefs to prepare some rolls or nigiris. Or ask a waiter. The sushi selection is extensive and quite imaginative.

You can also take out sushi or order party platters that are also of very good value.

Genki Sushi, Le Meridien Shopping Center, 100 Orchard Road; Forum The Shopping Mall, 583 Orchard Road; and Changi Airport, International Departures, Food Court, 2nd level; Singapore

It is more expensive than Sushi Sakae. SS charges only $1.80 for most plate, with the red plates being $3.90. Average cost being $12 for one. You can save more by going to Sushi Sakae (www.sushisakae.com.sg)
