Kärsämäki church – Black cubic church

People in Kärsämäki decided to build a new church in a location of an ancient church from the middle ages. The church has striking architecture and it has been built mimicing methods from the distant past. Nothing industrially made is used in the building.

The wooden coating (paanu in Finnish), makes the church look like a black cube dropped from the skies in middle of Finnish countryside.

The church is located near E80 road, a couple kilometers from Kärsämäki towards Jyväskylä. Follow the signs.
