Hamburger Bahnhof – Postmodern art in postmodern settings
Hamburger Bahnhof is, as name implies, a former railway station that has been converted into an art museum. The old building creates an excellent place for the art, providing enough space for bigger pieces and forming a juxtaposition between the moderness of the art and the old style charm of the space.

The art is contemporary. It may cause mixed feelings and raise questions, such as “is this really art or just rubbish?”. But that is just part of the exciment with contemporary art museums.
The museum is located on Invalidenstrasse, near the former wall on Berlin Mitte. The nearest metro station is Zinnowitzer Strasse on former East Berlin. Other public transportation means are readily available, check the website of the museum.
