Chez Dominique – La crème de la crème

Updated May 9, 2007: The restaurant has moved to bigger premises on Rikhardinkatu 4.

Chez Dominique is the best restaurant in Helsinki, awarded by two Michelin stars (the only restaurant with two stars in Finland).

The main chef, Hans Välimäki, knows how to make good food that is feast for the eyes. The dishes are served with different plates and the whole ensemble forms a work of art.

The service is attentive and nonfussy. People really know what they are talking about and you could have lengthy discussions with the staff about food and wines.

Still, the atmosphere in the restaurant is not too posh. Prepare to pay a lot, though. Try “Menu surprise”, a meal with four, six or nine courses.
