Chevy's Fresh Mex – Basic Mexican

Chevy’s Fresh Mex is a basic Mexican restaurant chain spread all around the country. Emeryville joint is located at the waterfront on the Powell Street. Most of the Emeryville services are on the other side of the highway, so you do not stumble here that easily — unless you are living in Holiday Inn next door.

The restaurant is quite big and almost full of people during lunch hour. The place is very noisy, muzak banging from the loudspeakers and people chatting all the time. Someone may feel too distracted to enjoy meal in this environment.

The tables facing the sea have an okay vista, nothing spectacular, but it still beats the views to the highway.

The menu is extensive, as usual with Mexican restaurants, and the food is good. The portions are not just the archetypical Mexican fare, but there is slight hints of fusion kitchen here and there.
