Suomalainen Kirjakauppa – The bigger bookstore

Suomalainen Kirjakauppa is the bigger of the two bookstores in downtown Lahti. The selection, as one can guess, tilted heavily towards Finnish literature, but there is a selection of English books available, too.

Suomalainen Kirjakauppa – The both bookstores

Tempo – Good lunch from the grill

Restaurant Tempo is a favourite lunch joint for workers in Tapiola. Also women with small babies seem to like the restaurant, maybe due its excellent accessibility. Timbaali – Escargots

Restaurant Timbaali is well known for its escargots. They used to have their own snails, but nowadays these delicacies are imported.

The menu had six different escargot appetiser and one main course had also these creatures. If you are not fond of them, you can have "normal" food, too.

Tomo – Tasty sushi

Tomo Sushibar is a small scale sushi restaurant in Oulu, nearby Rotuaari. The place was deserted on Wednesday evening, so we were a bit hesitant to order anything. Fortunately we did, as the sushi was an extremely pleasant surprise -- it was tasty, imaginative and inexpensive.

The restaurant itse... More >

Trio – Large shopping mall
